Editor of Cap News, and editorially responsible for everything published on it.
Sam Allcock
Editor · Cheshire, United Kingdom
Sam Allcock is a digital publisher with more than two decades in UK media and marketing. He founded and later sold the agencies Custard and PR Fire, and now publishes a group of UK data and trade titles through Domain Farm Ltd. He is not an accountant, an insolvency practitioner or a financial adviser, and nothing on this site is advice.
What he is responsible for, and what he is not
Cap News publishes a report on every working day's company filings. Those reports are written by a pipeline, not typed by a person: it downloads the Companies House accounts file each morning, reads the tagged figures out of every filing, and writes the day's report from them. You will not find a human byline on one, because there was not one.
What Sam is responsible for is everything else: what this site counts, how it says it, what it refuses to say, and correcting it when it is wrong. The method sets out the rules the pipeline follows, including the two parsing bugs caught before launch that would have produced confident wrong numbers.
He is not an accountant, an insolvency practitioner or a financial adviser. Nothing on this site is advice, and no figure here should be used to judge whether a company is solvent. See the disclaimer.
